Civil War Building Plaques
With one of the largest collections of pre-Civil War buildings on the East Coast, the city of Petersburg worked with StudioAmmons to create brass plaques for all of the buildings that were standing during the Civil War. There are two types: one for buildings that were hit by cannon fire during the Siege of Petersburg, and the other for buildings that were standing during the war. A map panel is also being created for Petersburg’s downtown, showing which buildings were hit during the Siege.
