Rediscovering the Forgotten Garden
StudioAmmons worked with the Petersburg Garden Club to develop an exhibit for Petersburg’s Siege Museum about the rediscovery of a WPA herbarium collection and botanical illustrations that were done in Petersburg’s Lee Park. The exhibit contains examples of fossils found in the park, a selection of the original watercolors and interpretive panels exploring both the natural resources and extensive history of Lee Park from the Civil War through the park’s pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement.
