Riverview Physicians for Women
Designed with R.F. Haynie, the Riverview Physicians for Women (formerly Petersburg OBGYN) is a 10,000 s.f. medical facility overlooking the Appomattox River in Colonial Heights. The design began with the development of a "river pavilion" scheme focused on breaking up the mass of the building and creating a "navigational" icon on the river. Doctors work in suites with centralized nurse and administrative service areas. Due to budget reductions, the building's shell was simplified while still maintaining its important relationship with the river and the panoramic view from the waiting room.
