Christiansburg Institute
StudioAmmons is working with the Christiansburg Institute as the historic architects and interpretive planners for the restoration and development of the Edgar A. Long building and campus. Recently designated as an Historic Landmark, the restoration will serve as the core of the renovated campus of one of Virginia's most influential African American secondary educational institutions. From its inception in 1866 until its closure in 1966, the school was led by many influential leaders in American education from Booker T. Washington to Edgar A. Long.
